Various foundations offer scholarships to financially support your student life. These scholarships are divided into two types depending on the selection method. One is a scholarship in which students apply directly to the foundation. (① Direct application scholarship). The other is a scholarship in which the university recommends students to each foundation (② University recommendation scholarship).
Any privately funded international student can enroll. Nationally funded international students can also register when the expiration of the payment period is approaching.
①The student fill out the registration application form and submit it to the International Student Section.
Note: For undergraduates 1st and 2nd graders, submit an individual interview at the International Student‛s Advisory Room, stamp the application form, and submit it.
②The scholarship committee prepares a list of enrollees based on all registration applications submitted.
③The scholarship committee decides which students to recommend at the selection meeting based on the list of enrollees whenever scholarships are requested.
④The International Student Section of the Academic Affairs Division will contact the student whose recommendation has been decided.
⑤Students who have been recommended prepare the application documents and submit them to the International Student Section. The university is applying for a scholarship to the Scholarship Foundation
⑥The scholarship foundation notifies the university whether or not the scholarship has been awarded. The International Student Section notifies the applicants of the results.
Please ask your advisor or the professor in charge. For 1st and 2nd-year students in the College of Arts and Sciences, ask the faculty in charge of the counseling room.
The conditions required by each foundation are different, so selections are made according to these conditions. Besides, to secure objectivity, individual criteria such as academic performance and financial situation are set and scored (for details, refer to the “How to Apply for Scholarship Registration” below). The decision is made based on the submitted scholarship registration application, so please fill out the application accurately. Graduate students should also write detail as possible about their field of study.
Basically, the student who receives university recommendation is recommended to prioritize university recommendations. (It is not possible to give up the university recommendation applied at the same time because it was accepted for direct application scholarship, as it will lead to a decrease in the number of recommended students in the future.) For more information, please consult the International Student‛s Advisory Room.
